December 26, 2014 (Ramona) – A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 10 at 11 a.m. at Hacienda de las Rosas Winery in Ramona to commemorate winemaker William Holzhauer. Holzhauer passed away earlier this month following a long battle with cancer. The celebration of his life will be held on his birthday. “2014 will always be a memorable year for our family,” his wife, Tammy Rimes, wrote in an e-mail to wine club members and friends. “We closed and moved our Old Town tasting room after 7 years at that location. We completed and opened our Ramona winery and tasting room. And most importantly, we spent our last wonderful year with the winemaker and my husband, William Holzhauer. Our children and I plan to carry on his legacy and 2015 will bring lots more adventures our way.” Rimes says that during her husband’s struggles over the past three years, “I learned to enjoy life in the moment, start to ignore the drama and negativity around me, and count the blessings that we had.” |
