May 23, 2010 (Descanso) – Three-year-old Noah Hale was found by his mother floating face-down and unresponsive in the family’s backyard pool on Friday. Following a 9-1-1 call, the toddler was air-lifted to Rady Children’s Hospital, but emergency room medical personnel were unable to save him.
The family resides at 24010 Sherilton Valley Road. The child was pronounced dead at 6:52 p.m. Friday evening, according to the County Coroner’s office.
Each year, more than 4,000 children under age five drown in swimming pools in the U.S. Thousands more are treated in emergency rooms for near-drownings, and some suffer permanent brain injuries.
