November 30, 2019 (Lemon Grove) – The Lemon Grove Historical Society invites you to Christmas Open House on Dec. 6 from 5-8 p.m. Santa will be in the H. Lee House. You can tour the museum and also buy books at the Parsonage Museum before enjoying the city’s annual bonfire.

What better Christmas gift than a book on Lemon Grove? Todos Iguales/All Equal by Christy Hale, on Lemon Grove’s 1931 school desegregation case. The New York Library placed this volume on its “Best Books of 2019” list and it was also selected by the National Council of Teachers on English as an Orbis Pictus Recommended Title.  Or pick up a pictoral history of Lemon Grove.

Books are priced at $20, plus $1.55 tax.  Cash and checks are accepted.

The city’s bonfire event starts at 4 p.m. with bonfire lighting at 6 p.m.  Events include games, refreshments, carriage rides, caroling and live music.
