

January 4, 2010 (La Mesa) – Shortly after locking up last night, the manager of Coco’s restaurant in La Mesa told police that while walking to his vehicle, a man with a dark ski mask and hooded sweatshirt pointed a pistol at him. The robber forced the manager back inside to open the safe, filled a Coco’s bag with cash and locked the manager in the cooler.
The manager called police at one minute past midnight to report the robbery. He told officers it took him about 15 minutes to escape the cooler. He was not injured. He described the robber as a dark-skinned man of undetermined age, about 6 feet 2 inches tall, 230 to 250 pounds. His mask, sweat shirt and pants were dark colors.
