COLLISION IN RANCHO SAN DIEGO KILLS 84-YEAR-OLD MAN

July 17, 2023 (Rancho San Diego) – Zohair Azez Potros Sinawi, 84, of El Cajon has been identified by the Medical Examiner’s office as the man who died in a collision that occurred on July 7 in Rancho San Diego.

The victim and his wife were passengers in a black Nissan sedan driven by one of their sons. The Nissan was turning left into a shopping center at the intersection of Jamacha Road and Cuyamaca College Drive West around 4:43 p.m. when a black Honda sedan traveling east on Jamacha collided with the Nissan and also struck a white Tesla.

California Highway Patrol and paramedics responded to multiple 911 calls.  Zohair Potros was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force injuries to his neck and torso.

California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

According to the El Cajon Mortuary, Potros is survived by his wife, Layla Nassir, his son Ghadeer Sinawi (Swan Sinawi); his daughter Bann Manjo (Thamer Manjo); his son Ragheed Sinawi; and his son Ghayth Sinawi (Karina Sinawi); his sister Jandark Kassab, his sister Manahel Farida, his sister Sanna Kalasho, his sister Lailan Jarbo, his sister Amaira Sinawi and his brother Steve Sinawi and 10 grandchildren.
