May 10, 2011 (San Diego) -- Congressman Bob Filner wants to make sure all of the small businesses in San Diego and surrounding areas have the opportunity to take advantage of the Small Business Administration (SBA) Jobs Act Tour, which is making a stop in San Diego on Friday, June 3, 2011.
“This will give small businesses access to all of the tools and experts the SBA now offers under the Jobs Act,” said Congressman Filner. “This event is about bringing government resources to the small businesses so they don’t have to go to several different places to find out how we can help them grow their businesses.”
The day-long Jobs Act event will allow small businesses the opportunity to give input on new regulations and includes separate sessions on getting an SBA loan, competing for federal contracts, training and counseling resources, and starting or increasing exports.
On Sept. 27, 2010, President Obama signed the Small Business Jobs Act into law, one of the most significant pieces of small business legislation in over a decade. The Small Business Jobs Act expands exporting opportunities, access to capital, opportunities for government contracting and resources for counseling and training.
Small businesses must register no later than Thursday, May 12 for the Jobs Act event which will be held on Friday, June 3 at the Scottish Rite Event Center in San Diego. To RSVP for this event, please visit the SBA online atwww.sba.gov/jobsacttour/sandiego.
