June 20, 2017 (El Cajon) -- Congresswoman Susan Davis (D-San Diego) is hosting a Veterans Town Hall to establish a greater understanding between local veterans and the friends and neighbors they fought for.  The town hall will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24 at the Ronald Reagan Community Center in El Cajon.

In San Diego, there is a sense that veterans are everywhere around us, but many have never had the chance to hear, firsthand, from someone who has served in a combat role. This is an opportunity to hear how that has affected them and how they relate to their family, friends and community differently in some cases after those experiences.

The event is designed to allow members of the community who haven’t served in the military to gain a greater compassion and understanding for the reality of military combat and its effects.

WHEN: 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017

WHERE: Ronald Reagan Community Center, 195 E Douglas Ave, El Cajon, CA

Congresswoman Davis represents the 53rd Congressional District, which includes central San Diego, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, Spring Valley and parts of El Cajon and Chula Vista. Davis serves on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, serving as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Training. She is also a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee.
