November 13, 2012 (San Diego)—On Election Night, several important races in San Diego and East County were too close to call.  Counting is underway of mail-in and provisional ballots at the County Registrar of Voters, where about 210,000 ballots countywide remain to be counted.

Scott Peters appears to have ousted Congressman Brian Bilbray, with a 2,660 vote lead.  Dave Roberts looks headed for the Board of Supervisors, since his razor-thin 13-vote margin on election night over Steve Danon has broaded to 2,688 votes. Bob Filner has solidifed his lead in the mayoral race, in which Carl DeMaio has now conceded.

Among East County races, a major nail-biter is in the Grossmont Union High School District, where Jim Stieringer’s lead over incumbent Gary Woods has narrowed to just 311 votes.  In El Cajon, however, incumbent Bob McClellan’s lead over Ben Kalasho is now 568 votes.

The closest race of all is in the Warner Unified School District, where Edward Norte won election, but Angela Acosta is up by just seven votes over Gina McMana.
