November 13, 2024 (San Diego) – The San Diego County Grand Jury is accepting applications for grand jurors now through January 10, 2025. The Grand Jury investigates citizens’ complaints and serves as a watchdog over government agencies, but does not conduct criminal investigations.
The 19-member 2025-26 Grand Jury will convene from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. Grand Jurors will work four days a week, approximately six hours per day, at the Grand Jury office in downtown San Diego. Members receive a small daily stipend, plus mileage, with parking provided.
You can download an application at the San Diego Superior Court's website or the Grand Jury's website. Applications can also be obtained by calling 619-450-7272 or at the Central Courthouse or East County, North County or South County Regional Centers.
To apply, you must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, have sufficient knowledge of the English language, have lived in San Diego County for at least one year prior to selection, and pass a criminal background check.
Qualified candidates will be nominated for a random drawing tentatively scheduled for May 30, 2025. The random drawing assures that each supervisorial district will have equal representation by population.
