February 15, 2019 (San Diego) - Rain could not dampen the spirit of love for couples tying the knot Thursday at County offices. Valentine’s Day is one of the busiest days of the year for the San Diego County Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk’s Marriage Section, and the office expected more than 100 couples at its downtown location.

Weather conditions kept all ceremonies indoors. But brightening the day were four adorable puppies dressed in tuxedos and dresses, serving as lovely little flower girls and furry ring bearers.

The Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk’s offices in Chula Vista, El Cajon and San Marcos all required appointments for Valentine’s Day. The downtown office, at 1600 Pacific Highway, had more than 80 appointments but also accepted walk-ins for a marriage license and ceremony through 5 p.m. The four locations together provided 24,703 marriage licenses last year.

To make an appointment for a future date, visit sdarcc.com or call 619-237-0502.

If you got engaged this Valentine’s Day or are planning your own wedding, take this quiz to see which County park you should get married in.
