January 6, 2014 (Pine Valley) – Two vehicles collided on I-8 this morning, plunging down a steep, rocky slope and igniting a brush fire that scorched a quarter-acre in Cleveland National Forest. Six people were injured.
A Ford Expedition swerved to the right and struck a camper in the next lane near Descanso before both vehicles plummeted off the road. Both vehicles were gutted by fire, but drivers and passengers were able to free themselves, the CHP reports.
Those injured were taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital.
