December 5,2024 (San Diego) -- Crime Under the Sun is the second anthology to be offered by Partners in Crime, the San Diego chapter of Sisters in Crime. Out of 60 entries, the editors selected the best 15.

You will meet a beguiling bail bondswoman hanging onto the family business by her fingernails, a magnificent old coot bound to his land and his cattle, four all-too-believable teens playing a deadly game, and a kick-ass 11-year-old cowgirl who takes on a real-life mystery from Hollywood’s Golden Age.

California life can be tough. A homeless woman learns how to protect herself; a thief learns not to mix blackmail payments with food; a man wanting to save a boy from a negative influence prays and receives a miracle; and a piano player learns blackmailing can be dangerous.

An anthology isn’t complete without a biblio-mystery. Crime Under the Sun has a creepy old mansion thrown in with mystery-solving librarians.

Sisters in Crime is a national organization of over 4,000 members across 60 chapters and several countries. The San Diego chapter offers free monthly meetings that are virtual (occasionally hybrid), allowing the group to feature speakers from far and wide. Speakers run the gamut from published authors to poison experts to detectives. Visit them at: https://sistersincrimesd.org
