October 25, 2011 (Deerhorn Valley)--The Deerhorn Valley Community Association will hold its first annual Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 30th from 4-7 p.m. at the site of the  Old Deerhorn Lodge  at Elena Lane and Deerhorn Valley Road. (Look for signs.)

Because homes in rural areas are far apart for kids to go trick-or-treating,  the Association’s Trunk or Treat event will allow costumed kids to go from car to car instead of house to house. Community members will park in lined-out spaces so the kids can fill their Halloween bags from the trunk of each car.

If you are hungry, you can purchase hot dogs and chips for a reasonable price. There will be free popcorn for snacks. “We'll also have games, a pinata, a campfire with s'mores, kids’  music and stories with Grandpa Rob Deason,” Deerhorn Valley Antler  http://www.deerhornvalley.net/antler.html editor Kim Deason said.

Deerhorn Valley community members are invited to bring their cars, decorated if they want, and treats to pass out. Feel free to bring your car and trunk treats even if you don't have any kids.

RSVPs are requested tol Karen Koop at 619-468-3627, or email DVCA@deerhornvalley.net.
