January 5, 2015 (Rancho San Diego)--A man who threatened the lives of Sheriff’s deputies and hurled metal objects at them is now under arrest.

Robert Khazin, who resides on Greenwick Place in the Cottonwood neighborhood of unincorporated El Cajon, called the Sheriff’s Department early this morning and said he would kill any law enforcement officers who came to his home, according to Sergeant Karla Taft.

Deputies from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s substation found the suspect in his driveway, where he reportedly shouted at officers and made more violent threats before retreating inside. There he allegedly armed himself with a makeshift slingshot and hurled ball bearings at deputies before trying to escape through the backyard.

A K-9 service dog subdued the suspect, who was booked into county jail on eight counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
