Creations will be displayed at Parkway Plaza and auctioned; entry deadline extended to Feb. 15

January 26, 2012 (El Cajon) --Hoping to make its first "Barkitecture" competition, the ACES Foundation asks your help to design the uldimate "doggy dream house" or "cat condo." Companies, nonprofit groups and individuals are encouraged to let their creativity run wild by designing, building and donating their most delightful and original dog and cat dwellings to the ACES Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit whose mission is to assist the El Cajon Animal Shelter.

This event will not only ensure funds and support for the shelter, but also recognize talents and commitment of local architects and builders of San Diego County. Nonprofits such as Boy Scouts and student groups are encouraged to enter in the non-professional category. So exercise your creativity and come up with a design that shows true "puppy love" or that's truly the cat's meow.

Designer information will be displayed, along with the houses, at Westfield Parkway, the busiest shopping mall in East County, from April 20-29.  Creations will be auctioned off on April 29. Entrants will also be featured in marketing materials.

During the display of the structures, the public will be invited to vote on "the people's choice" award. Professional judges will also choose winners in several categories. On the afternoon of the auction, the winners will be announced and prizes awarded.

The entry form is available on line at www.ACESFOUNDATION.org. The registration deadline has been extended to February 15. For more information or to have a brochure mailed to you, please call (619) 561-3277.
