DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER HIGH-SPEED CRASH INJURES 5 PEOPLE

September 2, 2012 (San Diego) – The driver of a red SUV traveling at 100 miles per hour or more is under arrest after causing a rollover crash that sent five people to the hospital.

The collision occurred around 1.a.m. on eastbound I-8, east of Fairmont Avenue, CHP reported.

The SUV smashed into the rear of a minivan, causing the van to spin out of control. The SUV rolled over several times, coming to rest on its side. The driver was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving before he was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Three adults and a child in the minivan have also been hospitalized, ECM news partner 10 News reported. No details on their condition have been released.
