ON DUTY SECURITY GUARD ROBBED AT KNIFEPOINT

April 15, 2012 (La Mesa) – An unarmed, uniformed security guard was robbed of cash and a cell phone by two men, one armed with a hunting knife.  The incident occurred on April 13 at approximately 9:49 p.m. at the Parkway Pointe Condominium Complex located at 7500 Parkway Drive in La Mesa.  La Mesa police have released descriptions of the suspects.

The security guard was on duty in the complex and was walking in the main driveway, north of Parkway Drive, when he was approached by two males. One male held a knife up to the guard and demanded he hand over all valuables.  The guard complied, handing over both cash and his cell phone and was not injured.

The two suspects ran away from the scene, heading west on Parkway Drive.  La Mesa Police officers searched the area but did not locate the suspects.

Suspect #1 is described as a black, adult male, 30-40 years old, 6’ 2” tall, and 165 lbs. with a thin build.  He had black hair and brown eyes.  He was wearing dark colored clothing.  The knife he was holding was described as a hunting style knife with an approximately 8” long blade that was jagged on one side.

Suspect #2 is described as a black, adult male, 30-40 years old, 6’ tall, and 230 lbs. with a heavy build.  He was wearing a black beanie, a gray hoodie and blue jeans.
