EAST COUNTY HONORS AWARDS GALA

February 5, 2024 (El Cajon) -- The East County Honors Awards Gala is a prestigious and celebratory occasion that showcases the achievements and contributions of the East County community. The East County Regional Chamber of Commerce, which hosts the annual event, supports and promotes the economic development and community interests of the East County region of San Diego County.

The 112th edition of the East County Honors Awards Gala, which recognizes outstanding businesses and community leaders in various categories, will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Sycuan Casino Resort. The event will also feature the swearing in of the 2024 Board of Directors of the Chamber!
 
East County contains some of the Country's most diverse and scenic landscapes, ranging from rocky foothills and chaparral-covered canyons to tree-lined mountains and desert areas. The region is also home to several historical and cultural attractions, such as the Viejas Casino and Resort, the Sycuan Cultural Resource Center and Museum as well as Casino and Resort, the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum, and the Olaf Wieghorst Museum and Western Heritage Center. 
 
The region is a hub for outdoor recreation and adventure, offering opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, ATVing, backpacking, mountain biking, fishing, camping, and more. East County is a place where you can experience the rugged beauty and rich heritage of San Diego County.
 
The East County Regional Chamber of Commerce service areas include El Cajon, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, Rancho San Diego, Santee and Jamul, as well as throughout all of the East County Region and the County/City of San Diego. They have working relationships with Chambers in the East County region in Alpine, Borrego Springs, Julian, Lakeside, Ramona, La Mesa, Santee, Poway, Pine Valley, and Spring Valley.
 

Some of the past winners of the East County Regional Chamber of Commerce awards were:

 

Business of the Year: This award honors a business that has demonstrated excellence in customer service, innovation, growth, and community involvement. Some of the previous recipients are Grossmont Center (2023), Sycuan Casino Resort (2022), and San Diego Gas & Electric (2021).

 

Citizen of the Year: This award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to the East County community through leadership, volunteerism, advocacy, or philanthropy. Some of the previous recipients are Dr. Nabil Abu-Ghazaleh (2023), Dianne Jacob (2022), and Bill Griffith (2021).

 

Nonprofit of the Year: This award celebrates a nonprofit organization that has demonstrated a positive impact on the East County community through its programs, services, or collaborations. Some of the previous recipients are East County Transitional Living Center (2023), Boys & Girls Clubs of East County (2022), and Home of Guiding Hands (2021).
