February 8, 2023 (Spring Valley) - Prep soccer is almost coming to an end and tonight, in the second-to-last game of the regular season, the Granite Hills Eagles headed out to Spring Valley to face Mount Miguel.  The Matadors are barely staying above water, at 9-9-3 overall and 3-2-1 in the Grossmont Valley League.  The Eagles aren’t doing much better; they’re 3-2-1 too in the Grossmont Hills League, but 6-9-3 overall.

Despite some close chances by the Matadors, it was the Eagles who dealt the first blow late in the half in the fourth minute and that was all they needed to win 1-0 and move to 7-9-3 overall and 4-2-1 in league.  The Matadors fall into the loss column at 9-10-3 overall and to .500 in league at 3-3-1.

For the last game of the season, the Matadors will head crosstown for a good old fashion Spring Valley shootout with the Monarchs of Monte Vista.  The Eagles will host El Cap.  Both games are on Friday at 7 p.m.
