LOCAL
An entire California town (Campo) is for sale — again. This time for $6.6M (San Diego Union-Tribune)
Nearly all of Campo has been for sale since 2019 — without a buyer in sight. Now, a new real estate team has taken over the task of selling almost the entire unincorporated community, which is a little more than an hour from San Diego. The sale would include 28 buildings, a mix of former Army barracks turned into apartments and single-family homes, as well as commercial properties.
County supervisors ok funding for migrant transit center (KPBS)
The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 Tuesday to accept nearly $19.6 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to pay for a migrant transition day center to help immigrants entering the United States travel to their final destinations.

According to Silicon Valley Bank’s new report on the State of the U.S. Wine Industry, wine sales nationwide dropped in 2023, and tasting room visitation dropped for a second year….However, according to the 2024 report from the San Diego County Vintners Association, San Diego County’s 166 wineries generated $54.5 million in gross sales in 2023, an 11% increase from the year prior.

Glue trap found in USPS collection box in Rancho San Diego (10 News)
A local man trying to mail out some bills made a sticky discovery inside a USPS collection box in Rancho San Diego. Outside the Rancho San Diego Towne Center, a thief is shopping inside a blue collection box... That issue has been plaguing the US Postal Service for years. ABC 10News has been documenting complaints dating back nearly a decade, of planted glue traps, allowing thieves to fish out mail, specifically checks. Those checks are then chemically washed, and made out to the thieves to the tune of hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars.
