August 10, 2019 (San Diego's East County) - Here are this week's top East County alumni sports headlines:
 
August 4
 
Valhalla product Greg Garcia went 1 for 4 with one single, one RBI and one run scored for the San Diego Padres as they were defeated by the Los Angeles Dodgers 11-10. 
 
Granite Hills product Travis Taijeron went 2 for 5 with one home run, one single, on RBI, and two runs scored for the Syracuse Mets as they defeated the Buffalo Bison 11-4. 
 
August 5
 
El Capitan product Kevin Ginkel made his relief pitching debut for the Arizona Diamondbacks as he pitched 0.2 innings, gave up two hits, one run and struck out one as the Diamondbacks were defeated by the Philadelphia Phillies 7-3.  
 
August 6
 
Grossmont product Ben Brault started for the Pittsburgh Pirates.  He pitched 5.1 innings, gave up three hits, two runs (two earned), one walk and struck out six as the Pirates were defeated by the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3.  Brault didn't get the decision in the game. 
 
August 7
 
Greg Garcia came in as a pinch hitter for Luis Urias as he went 1 for 1 with a single for the San Diego Padres as they were defeated by the Seattle Mariners 3-2. 
 
Kevin Ginkel came in relief for the Arizona Diamondbacks as he pitched one inning, gave up one hit, one run (one earned), one walk and struck out three as the Diamondbacks were defeated by the Philadelphia Phillies 6-1.
 
August 8
 
Travis Taijeron went 2 for 5 with two singles and two runs scored for the Syracuse Mets as they defeated the Durham Bulls 17-0. 
 
August 9
 
Kevin Ginkel came in relief for the Arizona Diamondbacks as he pitched 0.2 innings and struck out one batter as the Diamondbacks defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 in 11 innings. 
 
August 10
 
Joe Musgrove started for the Pittsburgh Pirates.  He went 5.1 innings, gave up six hits, three runs (three earned), three walks and struck out six as the Pirates were defeated by the St. Louis Cardiinals 3-1. 
 
Travis Taijeron went 1 for 4 with a single for the Syracuse Mets as they were defeated by the Norfolk Tides 8-6. 
 
Jack Stronach went 3 for 4 with two doubles, one home run, three RBIs and two runs scored for the Tri City Dust Devils as they defeated the Spokane Indians 8-3.

Helix product Jamar Taylor registered three tackles for the Seattle Seahawks as they defeated the Denver Broncos 22-14 on August 8.
