July 28, 2019 (San Diego's East County) - East County alumni impressed in the majors this week.  Click the cut for a recap.
 
July 22
 
West Hills product Stephen Strasburg started today for the Washington Nationals as his record improves to 13-4.  Strasburg pitched six innings, gave up three hits, two walks and struck out three as they defeated the Colorado Rockies 11-1 
 
Granite Hills product Travis Taijeron went 1 for 4 with a two-run homer, his 22nd of the season for the Syracuse Mets, as they were defeated by the Indianapolis Indians by a 7-6 score. 
 
El Capitan product Kevin Ginkel appeared in relief for the Reno Aces as he pitched one inning, gave up one hit and one walk and struck out three as the Aces defeated the Tacoma Rainiers 10-7. 
 
July 25
 
Grossmont product Joe Musgrove started for the Pittsburgh Pirates as he pitched five innings, gave up seven hits, six runs (five earned), one walk and struck out two as the Pirates lost to the St. Louis Cardinals 6-3. 
 
Kevin Ginkel made an appearance in relief for the Reno Aces as he pitched one inning with two strikeouts as they defeated the Tacoma Rainiers 4-3. 
 
July 26
 
Travis Taijeron went 2 for 3 with a single, hit his 23rd home run of the season for the Syracuse Mets as they defeated the Toledo Mud Hens 8-4. 
 
July 27
 
Valhalla product Greg Garcia came in as a pinch hitter for the San Diego Padres as he went 1 for 1 with a single with two RBIs as the Friars defeated the San Francisco Giants 5-1. 
 
Valhalla and San Diego U product Jeff Houghtby went 2 for 4 with one single, one double and two RBIs for the Salem Keizer Volcanos as they were defeated by the Eugene Emeralds 4-3. 
 
Kevin Ginkel made an appearance for the Reno Aces as he recorded his fifth save of the game, pitched 1.1 innings, gave up two hits, one run, (one earned), one walk and struck out two as the Aces defeated the Fresno Grizzlies 8-6. 
 
Helix and UCLA product Jack Stronach went 1 for 3 with a single with one run scored for the Tri City Dust Devils as they defeated the Everett Aqua Sox by a 11-4 score.
