June 23, 2019 (San Diego's East County) - East County alumni made waves this week in the MLB and MILB.  

June 16

Former Valhalla Norseman Greg Garcia went 4 for 4 with with one triple, three singles and four RBIs and two runs scored for the San Diego Padres as they defeated the Colorado Rockies 14-13. 

Former Ramona Bulldog Gage Canning went 1 for 3 with a single with one RBI and scored two runs for the Potomac Nationals as they defeated the Fayetteville Woodpeckers 15-4. 

June 20

 
Greg Garcia went 1 for 4 with a triple, one RBI and one run scored for the San Diego Padres as they defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 8-7. 
 
June 21
 
Gage Canning went 1 for 3 with a single for the Potomac Nationals as they were defeated by the Carolina Mudcats 6-2. 
 
West Hills grad Stephen Strasburg started for the Washington Nationals as his record improves to 8-4 as they defeated the Atlanta Braves 4-3.  The former San Diego State Aztec pitched six innings and gave up five hits, three runs (three earned), three walks and struck out five.
 
Two former Grossmont Foothillers made headlines today.  Joe Musgrove started for the Buccos as his record improves to 5-7 on the season as he pitched seven innings and gave up five hits, one run (one earned) and struck out eight.  Ben Brault, the other Foothiller, came in and pinch ran and scored the go-ahead run for the Pirates.  Greg Garcia came in as a pinch hitter and contributed with a single for the Padres. 
 
June 22
 
Gage Canning went 2 for 5 with a double and single for the Potomac Nationals as they were defeated 9-4 by the Carolina Mudcats.
