March 27, 2012 (San Diego) –Looking for a place to savor a feast on Easter Sunday?  Several local restaurants are offering a variety of options. From rack of lamb to roasted rabbit, you’ll find a wealth of savory options.
 
Here’s what’s hopping at a trio of our region’s top restaurants, including Terra Bistro in East County and two popular San Diego eateries.

 

 

FARM-TO-TABLE EASTER BRUNCH: Terra American Bistro
Devoted locavore Jeff Rossman, executive chef/owner of Terra American Bistro, will bring spring’s beautiful bounty to the Easter table with  sumptuous offerings featuring fresh, organic produce and locally sourced meats. Diners will begin lightly with sour cream coffee cake and a fresh fruit parfait with lavender yogurt. Next is their choice of meat or vegetarian entree followed by a elegant dessert of chocolate crepes with Moscato strawberries and basil whipped cream.

Light Nibbles:
Fresh Fruit Parfait with lavender yogurt
Sour Cream Coffee Cake
 
Choice of Entree:
Three L’il Pigs: Bourbon glazed ham, Stone smoked porter braised pork belly, pulled pork, Cheddar cheese, over easy eggs, duck fat fries
 
Blackened Salmon:Yukon potato pancakes, scrambled eggs, tomato-thyme hollandaise
 
Short Rib Hash: Maitake mushrooms, caramelized onions, two poached eggs, breakfast potatoes, rosemary hollandaise
 
Farmer’s Omelet: Tomatoes, local farm fresh vegetables, egg whites, homemade ricotta cheese
 
Mustard Marinated Free Range Chicken Breast: Maitake mushroom and asparagus ravioli, English peas, balsamic butter
 
Grilled Shrimp Salad: Spring vegetables, vanilla-lavender vinaigrette, grilled flatbread, petite herbs, crumbled gorgonzola
 
Citrus Grilled Chicken: Spinach gnocchi, oyster mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, garlic, basil, butter, asiago cheese
 
Dessert: Chocolate Crepes: Moscato strawberries, basil whipped cream
 
Terra American Bistro’s Easter Brunch will be served from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, and is $29 for adults and $12 for children ages 5-12. Children under 5 are free. INTIMATE MEDITERRANEAN-INSPIRED BRUNCH WITH BUNNY: The Red Door Restaurant and Wine Bar

Executive Chef Miguel Valdez of Mission Hills’ stunning neighborhood eateries, The Red Door and The Wellington, will prepare a three-course prix fixe dinner, inclusive of appetizer, entreé and dessert, with ingredients sourced from The Red Door Family Farm. Items are also available a la carte. The regular brunch menu, in addition to two specials, will be served at both restaurants.

The Red Door Restaurant & Wine Bar’s Easter brunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 8. BUBBLY CHAMPAGNE JAZZ BRUNCH: Humphreys Restaurant
 
Champagne bubbles. Cool jazz. California coastal cuisine. If you’re looking for a fun, spirited Easter brunch, then Humphreys is your place. Featured jazz artists will include the Pegan Taylor Trio Band from 10 a.m. to noon and Aubrey Faye from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
 
Humphreys will offer an extensive buffet including traditional morning fare, fresh seafood, a carving station, specialty selections and desserts. Below is a sampling. Please contact us if you’d like the full menu. 
 
Traditional Morning Fare: Belgian waffles, eggs benedict, made-to-order omelets, seasonal fruit, Bread & Cie breakfast pastries.
 
From The Sea: Snow crab clusters, chilled shrimp, sea bass ceviche, steamed black mussels with chorizo and potatoes, hand rolled sushi and nigiri.
 
Carving Station: Cedar River prime natural beef, roast turkey breast, honey glazed Hormel pit ham.
 
Specialty Selections: Roasted pork loin, baby back ribs, grilled lamb chops, made-to-order pasta. 
 
Sweet Endings: Chocolate dipped strawberries, a wide array of cakes, flan with caramel, a selection of hand-baked pastries, Haagen Dazs Ice Cream Sundae Bar.
 
Humphreys Easter brunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, and is $54.95 for adults and $16.95 for children ages 4-12. Children under 4 are free. Diners have three seating options: 1) Lounge area seating with live jazz. 2) Main dining room (diners will not hear the jazz) 3) Ballroom for large parties of 6 or more. ELEGANT WATERFRONT DINNER: If you’re looking for a lovely Easter dinner for all ages, Humphreys Restaurant will offer their recently updated dinner menu from 6 to 9 p.m.  Below are a few of the new items. We can send you a copy of the entire menu if you’d like.
