EpiPen maker lowers prices after uproar (The Hill)

The maker of EpiPens announced Thursday that it is reducing the price of the device following an uproar in Washington over the cost of the treatment for serious allergic reactions…Mylan announced the changed a day after Hillary Clinton denounced the company for hiking the cost of EpiPens 400 percent in recent years

Navajo nation to sue EPA over toxic river spill (America Now)

The Navajo Nation is suing the Environmental Protection Agency over a major mining spill in 2015. The spill, known as the Gold King Mine spill, sent three million gallons of toxic acid and metals into the Animas and San Juan rivers.  "One of the Navajo people's most important sources of water for life and livelihood was poisoned with some of the worst contaminants known to man, including lead and arsenic," federal court filings by the Navajo claimed..The leaders of the Navajo Nation are joined by the state of New Mexico in suing both the EPA and the state of Colorado for the negligence.

Clinton Foundation won’t accept foreign, corporate donations if Hillary Clinton wins (Washington Post)

…The decision comes amid mounting criticism of how the foundation operated during her tenure as secretary of state, potentially allowing donors to seek special access through her government post.

U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump toured flood-battered Louisiana on Friday, shrugging off the Democratic state governor's plea for politicians not to stop in areas affected by deadly rains…. Trump told reporters he came to help out, joined by vice presidential running mate, Indiana Governor Mike Pence..Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards' office, however, had said Trump did not call to discuss plans."We welcome him to (Louisiana), but not for a photo op," the governor's office said in a statement, urging Trump to volunteer or make "a sizable donation."

Deadly quake described as ‘Dante’s inferno’ kills dozens in Italy (CBS)

A strong earthquake in central Italy reduced three towns to rubble as people slept early Wednesday, with at least 73 people killed and hundreds injured as rescue crews raced to dig out survivors. The toll was likely to rise as crews reached homes in more remote hamlets where the scenes were apocalyptic “like Dante’s Inferno,” according to one witness.

Gaza militant rocket strikes Israel; Israel responds with air strike, shells (Yahoo! News)

Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip launched a rocket that landed in the Israeli border town of Sderot on Sunday and Israeli aircraft and tanks responded by shelling the Gaza town of Beit Hanoun, the army and police said.
