Sept, 8, 2016 (El Cajon) -- “Around The World In Eighty Minutes,” a multicultural festival, will be held on Saturday, September 17th, 2016 from 6 p.m to 8:30 p.m. at the El Cajon Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1270 S. Orange Avenue in El Cajon. The event will showcase cultures and countries around the world through food and information booths and performances.

“We have so many diverse cultures represented in East County,” says organizer Ghassan Seba. “This event showcases those cultures.” The “family friendly” event debuted last year at the church’s Hillsdale meetinghouse. Due to the major success of the event last year, it has been expanded to a larger venue.

Patterned by a yearly event formerly produced by the City of El Cajon, the event is a major opportunity where local residents can taste, learn, greet and meet about the cultures represented by members of the Church and the community. The countries represented at this year’s even are Brazil, theh Domenican Republic, Finland, Great Britain (England, Ireland and Scotland), Jamaica, Mexico, the Middle East, Peru, Polynesia, Russia, Singapore/Malaysia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Uruguay, and Vietnam.
