September 2, 2023 (El Cajon) – The German-American Societies of San Diego will host two weekends of Oktoberfest at their El Cajon headquarters: Sept. 29-Oct. 1 and Oct. 6-8.

The hours are Fridays 4-10 p.m., Saturdays 12-10 p.m., and Sundays 12-9 p.m.

An opening day parade and keg tap kicks off the festivities Sept.29 at 6:30 p.m., when the Oktoberfest Queen for2023 will be crowned.

Direct from Germany, the band  Die Guggenbach Buam will perform traditional German music just as you’d hear in the beer gardens of Bavaria.  You can also watch folk dancing, compete in games and contests, visit craft vendors, a kids’ zone, and savor authentic German food, such as bratwurst, ox-on-the-spit, potato salad, potato pancakes, sauerkraut, red cabbage, pretzels, and a variety of German pastries as well as German beers and liquors.

A raffle will also be held – and the grand prize is a trip for two to Germany.

Please use Uber, Lyft, Taxis, or other services to and from Oktoberfest, you can call one from home or from the Transit Center if you still want to utilize the trolley. There will be a drop off/pick up area in front of Oktoberfest where the shuttle stop was previously.

Pets are not allowed. All bags subject to search. No outside food or beverages. The event is subject to mandatory Covid restrictions.
