EL CAJON MAN DIES IN MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT

Update Nov. 30, 2011 -- CHP announced today that it has determined this death resulted from a hit-and-run.  “The CHP is looking for a light-colored 1997-2001 Buick Park Avenue," CHP Office Brian Pennings revealed. "The vehicle will have minor to moderate damage on the left side,” he said, adding that the left side mirror, doors, and possibly left front portion of the vehicle may have been damaged." November 14, 2011 (El Cajon) -- Shawn Russell Kinzer, 40, has been identified as the motoryclist killed November 10 in an accident on I-8 in El Cajon.  According to the San Diego Medical Examiner, Kinzer was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when "he was witnessed to loose control of his motorcycle and go down just west of Mollison Avenue."

Kinzer, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected and may have been struck by a passing vehicle after coming to rest in the traffic lanes.  Passing motorists stopped and called 911. CHP officers and El Cajon Police responded.

The motorcyclist was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where despite resuscitative efforts, he could not be revived and was pronounced dead at 9:26 p.m. in the emergency department. 

Kinzer, who was single, resided with his family in El Cajon.
