EL CAJON TEEN FOUND DEAD IN CAR WRECK

June 17, 2012 (El Cajon )—The County Medical Examiner has identified a teen found dead Thursday at a car crash site as Mario Arturo Rodriguez, 18, an El Cajon resident. He died of head injuries, the Medical Examiner concluded.

The vehicle, an Acura, was found off Sierra Alta Way, a private road south of Old Highway 80 and Lake Jennings Park Road. Although the discovery was made in the afternoon, authorities believe the crash may have occurred at night, since the headlight switch was on.

CHP has indicated it appeared Rodriguez was driving too fast when he entered a sharp curve in the road, causing the accident.
