EL CAJON'S ANNUAL DANCE RECITAL IS BACK: MARCH 22 EVENT AT ECPAC INVOLVES THE YOUNG & YOUNG AT HEART

March 12, 2009 (El Cajon)--The City of El Cajon Recreation Department will hold its much anticipated Annual Dance and Tumbling Recital at the East County Performing Arts Center on Sunday, March 22, 2009, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This event has been a highlight in the City for over 20 years. This year's recital, "Dance And Tumble--Through The Decades!" will showcase the talents of ages 5 through senior adult in tumbling, tap, jazz, cheer, hip-hop, lyrical and modern jazz. Act 1- "Oldies" begins at 2:30 and Act 2-"Goodies" begins at 4:30p.m. There are currently 261 dancers and tumblers, from beginners to advanced, participating in 47 routines after 10 weeks of class training. Dance Recital Coordinator Emily Withers says, "This annual event showcases so many wonderful talented dancers in our community. This is my absolute favorite event of the year!" Programs offered by the City of El Cajon Recreation Department are designed to instill and support youth and their families with creative activities, a commitment to learning, and constructive use of time. Proceeds from this recital directly benefit participants through program, equipment, or facilities enhancement. Proceeds have helped to replace the dance floors in five recreation centers. Advance ticket sales are available at the ticket office located at 1545 Pioneer Way, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On March 22, tickets will be available an hour prior to the 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. performances at the ECPAC theater ticket office. Note: If the public would like to sign up for classes, spring session begins April 13, with registration beginning on March 16.
