December 7, 2015 - (Lakeside) - For a breather from all the holiday cheer I took in El Capitan High School's Acting Can Be Murder. Was this the show perfect? Of course not. These were high school students, works in progress. But the show was light-hearted fun, totally entertaining, and Lindsay Gampel-Qualin, teacher and director, has some talented actors emerging in Lakeside.

Acting Can Be Murder is a spoof on both Agatha Chrustie and Alfred Hitchcock; a murder-mystery farce of a period piece play. We went behind the scenes as they rehearsed for opening night. Corissa Knaresbora played the lead, Delores Gordon. On stage for most of the show she made the audience laugh. Doing a fabulous job playing the director, Zoee Bauer. She was totally into her role. Megan Patton, was also a stand out as Georgia Styles.Katherine Calderon, also did a wonderful job. However, the show had many colorful

characters, to which the entire cast did an incredible work bringing them to life.

I'm always happy to go out to El Capitan's plays. Every time I've gone out there, and it is a ways, I've thoroughly enjoyed myself. It's too late the winter show. but I'm sure they will  be just as fabulous this Spring. Try to come out to catch a show.. This may seem like a repeated theme. But until I see these school theatre full for these hard working students I will continue to encourage you to stop by.
