March 14, 2016 (San Diego) - Longtime San Diego Chargers free safety Eric Weddle signed a deal with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday morning, the team reported.

The deal is for four years, and will pay out $26 million to the nine year veteran from the University of Utah.

The move was expected, as Weddle has complained of the organization’s treatment of him over the past couple of months.

The last straw came when Weddle was fined $10,000 for watching his daughter perform during halftime of a Chargers game last season.

Weddle was placed on IR for a groin injury in Dec. of 2015, but was not allowed to come back or travel with the team even after he participated in practice at full speed.

The Chargers will miss the impact of Weddle, who has made three pro bowls and two all-pro teams in his nine years in San Diego.

Over his career, Weddle recorded 850 tackles and 19 interceptions, while missing only seven games.
