ESCAPED PRISONER CAUGHT IN LEMON GROVE

January 3, 2011 (Rancho San Diego) --- Thomas Francis Kelley, an inmate who escaped from Donovan State Prison Sunday night, has been apprehended a short time ago at a trolley station in Lemon Grove, 10 News reports.

A manhunt ensued after a possible spotting of Kelley earlier this morning at Wind River Road and Elva Street in Rancho San Diego. 

Sheriff's Deputies responded to a call of a possible sighting this morning, searching the area and knocking on doors to show Kelley's photo to residents.

No leads were found.  According to MSNBC, Kelley was in prison for parole violations. He had reportedly been arrested previously on theft and DUI charges.

Kelley, who worked on a prison firefighting crew, escaped by stealing a yellow state-owned fire truck from the prison in the Otay Mesa area. The truck was found Sunday night at 8:40 pm.

He had been slated for release in 2013.
