March 3, 2013 (San Diego’s East County)—Three people have died in the past four days in crashes on East County roadways--including two accidents on Highway 94 and a third in Borrego Springs.

One person was killed Sunday in a two-vehicle crash on state Route 94 at Emery Road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).  A truck and motorcycle collided just before 12:30 p.m., CHP indicated. The road was blocked in both directions.

A motorcyclist who was killed in an accident in Borrego Springs on Friday has been identified as Mark C. Larsen of Corona.  Larsen was driving a 1946 Indian Chief motorcycle and crashed on the curve on Montezuma Valley Road at Palm Canyon Drive around 3:15 p.m. According to the CHP, Larsen lost control and went off the ride side of the road, crashing into a rock embankment.

Carlos Lerma, 24, of El Cajon, died Friday from injuries he suffered in a head-on crash on State Route 94 at Peaceful Valley Road Thursday around 1 p.m. Lerma was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to authorities.
