FBI & SD POLICE ARREST “SUN HAT BANDIT” ; TEEN ACCUSED OF ROBBING LOCAL BANKS

June 10, 2010 (San Diego) –Victoria Wilkerson, 19, of San Diego has been arrested for suspicion of robbing banks in Spring Valley, the College area, and Mission Valley. San Diego FBI Special Agent in Charge Keith Slotter announces the arrest of Victoria Wilkerson yesterday at 10 a.m. in the 4000 block of Vandever in San Diego, California.

She was taken into custody without incident as the result of an investigation conducted under the “Sun Hat Bandit” bank robbery series. This bank robbery series involved two completed bank robberies and one attempted robbery that all occurred on Monday, May 10, 2010. The following bank robberies are part of the overall investigation:

 

(1) Wells Fargo Bank, 5624 Mission Center Road, San Diego, California at approximately 9:49 a.m.

 

(2) Mission Federal Credit Union, 3815 Avocado Boulevard, Spring Valley, California at approximately 10:40 a.m.

 

(3) Chase Bank, 3490 College Avenue, San Diego, California, at approximately 11:00 a.m.

 

Wilkerson is currently being held at the Los Colinas Detention Facility and expected to be arraigned in State Superior Court on Friday, June 11, 2010.
