FIRE IN WITCH CREEK AREA HALTED AT 2 ACRES

July 10, 2010 (Julian) – The Creek Fire, a grass fire that began at Highway 78 and Old Julian Highway near the community of Witch Creek at 3:28 p.m. today has been contained. The fire’s spread was stopped at less than two acres and Cal Fire’s incident commander has released all firefighting aircraft.

 

Firefighters remain on the scene mopping up hot spots. Eight engines, two fire crews, a bulldozer, two water tenders, two helicopters and two air tankers responded to the blaze, swiftly bringing it under control.

 

Cause of the fire remains under investigation.
