FIREFIGHTERS SAVE WHEELCHAIR-BOUND RESIDENT

March 9, 2015 (Lemon Grove) – Firefighters helped a wheelchair-bound resident out of home in Lemon Grove after finding the garage in flames Monday morning.

Heartland Fire & Rescue crews from El Cajon, with assistance from San Diego Fire, responded to the fire in the 3200 block of New Jersey Avenue. Crews arrived within two minutes to find the garage fully engulfed by the fire.

Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent houses on both sides of the garage and helped the disabled resident to a safe location.

Cause of the fire is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Bomb and Arson Department.
