January 17, 2016 (Spring Valley) - If you're like me and never have anything to do on Saturday night and you LOVE classic comedy (also like me), here is something for you.
The Saps at Sea chapter of the Sons of the Desert, the official Laurel and Hardy fan association, is
having their January meeting--the first of its 38th year as a tent--on January 30th at 6:30 p.m. at Trinity Church in Spring Valley. Laurel and Hardy were a comedy team comprised of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Together, their popularity was paramount during the 1920s and 1930s.
This month's meeting theme is "Laurel and Hardy - Animal Lovers" and will feature the boys in "Wrong Again," "Laughing Gravy" and "The Chimp." This month's cartoon will feature Porky Pig and this month's guest comedian will be one of my favorites, Buster Keaton in 1934's "Allez Oop."
So if you like having a Sappy good time, come join the Saps at Williams Hall at Trinity Church for a night of laughter and delicious intermission treats!
