April 19, 2011 (San Diego’s East County) – Who’s giving money to your elected officials? Are there conflicts of interest?

Now you can find out easily thanks to two new websites just launched.

The Sacramento Bee has created a searchable database for all gifts given to state officials and legislators over the past 10 years. Get details here: http://blogs.sacbee.com/capitolalertlatest/2011/04/database-see-search-g...

Now the County of San Diego’s Registrar of Voters has launched a new website for citizens to monitor disclosures of local officials, such as planning boards through mayors: http://sdvote.net/CampaignDocs_Web_Public_Access/default.asp

Contributions to federal officials, along with some analysis, may be found at www.opensecrets.org.
