FREE “START SMART” DRIVER TRAINING FOR TEENS & PARENTS JAN. 12 IN ALPINE

January 5, 2011 (Alpine) Responding to an alarming teen fatality trend in San Diego County,  Alpine Sheriff’s Station will host “Start Smart” on Thursday, January 12 at 7 pm. at the Viejas Training Center, 5000 Willow Road in Alpine (first driveway on the left after the casino).

The goal of the program is to reduce the number of teen driving related injuries and death due to drunk and distracted driving. This class will address teen and parental responsibilities related to driving, risk factors for collisions, including texting while driving, automobile insurance implications and applicable Vehicle Code sections. 

The program is open t parents with their teens, ages 15 – 20.  Seating is limited so please RSVP no later than Tuesday, January 10 for the January 12 event.  Each teen must have a parent present.
