FREE COMMUNITY HEALTH AND WELLNESS FESTIVAL APRIL 21 IN SPRING VALLEY

April 14, 2012 (Spring Valley) -- The annual free Spring Valley Community Health and Wellness Festival is being held April 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Spring Valley County Park, 8735 Jamacha Blvd., Spring Valley.

The festival offers nutritious food sampling, healthy cooking demonstrations and free health screenings, including body fat analyses and dental screenings. Experts will offer exercise and injury prevention tips.  There will also be a DJ and dance performances.  Other activities include a climbing wall, crafts, games and inflatable jumps that will engage kids.

The annual neighborhood event is hosted by the San Diego County Department of Parks and Recreation and the County Health and Human Services Agency, with the San Diego County Library, the Healthy Adventures Foundation, the Family Health Centers of San Diego, and the Otay Water District joining to sponsor the festival.
