March 28, 2016 (San Diego) -- Caltrans will close all lanes on northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) from La Jolla Village Drive/Miramar Road to Interstate 5 (I-5) Monday through Thursday from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. The closure is needed to install median barriers.

Detour signs will be placed to direct motorists to westbound State Route 52 (SR-52) and then to northbound I-5.  Access to and from I-805 at La Jolla Village Drive/Miramar Road will be restricted; however, travelers wishing to exit at Nobel Drive or Governor Drive will be allowed to continue north on I-805 to their exits.

Stage 1 of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project is constructing one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from just north of SR-52 to just north of Mira Mesa Boulevard. The project also includes construction of a south-facing Direct Access Ramp at Carroll Canyon Road, bridge widening and ramp modifications.  The construction cost for Stage 1 is about $86 million and is funded with state, federal and local sources, including the Proposition 1B State – Local Partnership Program and TransNet Extension funds.
