GET MOVING ON LA MESA’S URBAN WALKING TRAILS

October 10, 2009 (La Mesa)—The City of La Mesa encourages residents to “Get Up, Get Out and Get Moving “ with Urban Walking Trails. This FREE walking program offers each walker the choice of an intermediate or advanced route and is designed for all ages and fitness levels. Bring your family to enjoy the outdoors and at the same time exercise and explore La Mesa.

 

Walks meet each Monday and Wednesday evenings as well as Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings led walking host Fit –X San Diego, Fitness Professionals. Route options include:

 

The Stride (int), a five mile route with slight hills, meets at Jackson Park Saturdays @ 8:00 am.
The Challenge (adv), a three and half mile route with hills & steps, meets at Highwood Park Mondays and Wednesdays @ 6:00 pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 9:00 am.

Funding is thru the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, Grossmont Healthcare District and La Mesa Collaborative. Free water bottles are also available to those that participate while supplies last.
