November 18, 2011 (La Mesa)--Youth at United Church of Christ of La Mesa (UCCLM)  will host a Fair Trade Holiday Sale on November 19 and 20 featuring gifts made by artisans paid fair wages and clean, safe work conditions in communities across the globe.

Handmade gifts including jewelry, kitchen and decorative items, accessories, food, and other items from around the world will be featured, along with crafts and food items offered by church members.

In addition, special this year, the Hmong crafts of “Mama” Houa will be available.

If you don’t find exactly what you want, a SERRV catalog will be available for ordering items.

Fair trade products are certified to assure that the artisans, craftspeople and farmers who produce the items are paid a livable wage in their communities. Fair trade products are also required to meet environmental standards, helping communities around the world assure that they will have clean air and water. Guests are invited to shop for gifts that give back to our community and the world.

The sale will be held in the church Fellowship Hall on Saturday, November 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, November 20 between the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services, which are open to guests.  UCCLM is located at 5940 Kelton Avenue, La Mesa, CA 91942 (619-464-1519, www.ucclm.org).
