August 14, 2017 (Santee) -- I spent a wonderful Sunday morning hanging out with my ‘son’ Jeffrey Caton and his son Jeffrey junior at this relaxing place of beauty.

The morning dawning was cool and slightly overcast, with a hushed calm accompanied by the pleasant sounds and smell of nature filling my senses.

As an observer taking an opportunity to snap some images of these fishermen and anything else I was blessed with, I was having a great time.

The white Egret was “fishing” as well, and as you can see, was successful in catching a small fish, probably a trout, of which there were quite a few lazily swimming around, eluding capture by ignoring what bait was offered up by the fishermen.

Visit their website at www.santeelakes.com or call 619-596-3141 for more information.

If you like to fish, camp, play or just relax, this is a great, kid friendly place to get away from the city hustle and bustle. With the many amenities this park has to offer, everyone in the family will have something to do.

Fishing fees are: $9 per adult ($6 for senior 60 and older) $6 junior (age 15and younger), an extra pole is $4.

No state fishing license is required, but you do need a permit from the general store.

Read the lakes’ Rules & Regulations posted on their website for more information.
