December 12, 2011 (La Mesa) – David Gonzalez, 16, and his grandmother, Celia Torres, 73, have been identified by family members as the victims who perished in a fiery collision Friday on Highway 125 just south of I-8.  Gonzalez was a sophomore at Grossmont High School and hoped to join the military.

"He was a good son. A real, real good son. He was doing his best," Gonzalez’ mother, Andrea Vazquez told NBC.

Torres had picked up her grandson from the dentist office shortly before the 5:30 p.m. collision.  A Silverado driven by Justin Foulds of Lemon Grove slammed into the Nissan Pathfinder, triggering a four-car collision.  The Pathfinder burst into flames, trapping Gonzalez and Torres in the vehicle.

Foulds was arrested on charges of drunk driving and faces a vehicular manslaughter charge.
