September 9, 2010 (El Cajon)--The Grossmont College Guitar Guild will present “Odeum Guitar Duo,” a fund-raising performance for the Guitar Guild by two Grossmont College guitar instructors Fred Benedetti and Robert Wetzel, starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, at the College’s recital hall, room 220.

Odeum refers to a small building in ancient Greece or Rome that was used for public performances of music. The public is invited to attend. Admission is $10 per person, and $8 for seniors, students and children under age 12.

Grossmont’s guitar program is believed to be the largest in Southern California and perhaps within California’s entire 112-college community college system, according to a press release issued by the college. This semester, approximately 365 students are enrolled in guitar classes at various levels of ability, including beginner, intermediate, classical guitar and guitar ensemble.
