September 20, 2015 (San Diego) – United Against Police Terror-San Diego, a group that documents police-related deaths and advocates for law enforcement reforms, has posted a hate-filled diatribe on its Facebook page along with a claim that the sender’s IP address  has been traced to the Sheriff’s Department.

ECM asked the Sheriff’s department for comment but has not received a response.  However Voice of San Diego reports Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Melissa Aquino confirms that “It appears the email came from a Sheriff’s Department IP address. We are taking this very seriously and an internal investigation is underway to determine where, how and who it came from. As such, we are unable to provide any additional information at this time, but we are taking this matter very seriously.”

The message contained profanity, opening with “Fuck you, you stupid pieces of shit” and went on to defend law enforcement and fault criminals and protesters for police violence. The message ended with a veiled threat, “The good people of this county and country will always prevail over scum like you. Good luck. Your going to need it.”

Quick correction....

While I totally support and applaud the organization and activists in UNITED AGAINST POLICE TERROS-SAN DIEGO (UAPT-SD), I am not their spokesperson. They have a superb spokesperson named Catherine Mendonca. She too is on Facebook as is the UAPT-SD. If you want to get involved, or just get more information about this very important local problem, then I urge you to contact or join the UAPT-SD today. Thank you for covering this critical issue!

I Think

the police should take a couple of days off. What do you think Sterling?

I think maybe a lil more is needed....

hmmmm, I do not think that just a couple days off is going to resolve the "culture of hate/blame" that exists in the department. Need some serious reforms, retraining, recruiting and public accountability. TY!
