By Liz Alper

April 6, 2016 (San Diego) - With the San Jose Barracuda’s overtime loss to the San Antonio Rampage tonight, the San Diego Gulls are the second team in the AHL’s Pacific Division to clinch a berth in the Calder Cup playoffs.

The Gulls join the Ontario Reign, who are the only other Pacific team to have already clinched a playoff spot. The season ends next Sunday.

Other AHL teams that have already clinched are the Milwaukee Admirals, Grand Rapids Griffins and the Lake Erie Monsters, all from the Central Division.  From the North Division, the Toronto Marlies and the Albany Devils have clinched and from the Atlantic, the Hershey Bears are the only team to have clinched.
