By Bransen P. HarperJune 21, 2024 (Ramona) -- A couple of weeks ago, I went paintballing with a friend in a fun day-out at Giant Paintball Park in Ramona, celebrating the return of spring to the San Diego backcountry. Paintballing is a fun experience for all ages, an activity in which everyone can have fun shooting the opposing teammates while running around and breaking a sweat.
The park is large and has several large maps that cover different areas or terrains, such as a castle map with a deep ravine, a junkyard map and even a bushy Vietnam-era battlefield!
We got to play on several of the different maps starting with a western town setup, which had cut-out like buildings in a saloon style from which one could shoot through the little window holes.
The next map was the castle map, which was exhilarating. Some of our teammates would push up the middle using the barriers for cover, while a small contingent used the steep ravine to ambush the insiders.Staff was both very friendly and helpful for giving advice not only for beginners, but also for experienced veterans as well.
All in all, Giant Paintball Park is a great place to not only have a blast with family and friends, but also to get a good workout on a sunny day in the backcountry of east San Diego.
